#Role Purpose: 

#To build and maintain data systems that are easy to analyse and supports Aspetar’s clinical and operational requirements. To implement methods to improve data reliability and quality by combining raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats. Also develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modelling.

#Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.

Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.

Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.

Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.

Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.

Works closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.

Defines company data assets (data models), spark, sparkSQL, and hiveSQL jobs to populate data models.

Designs data integrations and data quality framework.

Designs and evaluates open source and vendor tools for data lineage.

#Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

Analyze and organize raw data 

Build data systems and pipelines

Evaluate business needs and objectives

Interpret trends and patterns

Conduct complex data analysis and report on results 

#Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling

Build algorithms and prototypes

#Combine raw information from different sources

Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability

Identify opportunities for data acquisition

Develop analytical tools and programs

#Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects

Develop and/or enhance policies, procedures, systems that support data management and analytics activities at Aspetar

Implement approved Aspetar and departmental policies processes and procedures to ensure work is completed in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering world class service 

Ensure cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce wastage and unnecessary expense

Share ideas and viewpoints to further streamline processes, thus driving efficiency and improvements across the organization 

Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role within the health-medical field. 

Data extraction knowledge and experince from Cerner Millennium EMR is a must.

Hands-on experience with SQL and CCL (Cerner Command Language) is a must

Hand-on experince with Microsoft Power Bi is a must

Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques

Knowledge of programming languages  (e.g. Java, R andPython)

Hands-on experience with SQL and CCL database design

Great numerical and analytical skills

Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer or Azure Data Engineer) is a plus

Experince in MS tools, as well as Power Query/M & DAX

Knowledge of Oracle database

Knowedge ETL or ELT tools for Azure data warehouse 

 

Education and Certification requirements:

 

Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master’s is a plus

 

Job specific technical Skills:

Thorough understanding of Healthcare Informatics, Health Information systems design, build, testing, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of programming languages  (e.g. Java, R and Python)

Data extraction knowledge and experince from Cerner Millennium EMR is a must.

Hands-on experience with SQL and CCL (Cerner Command Language) is a must

Hand-on experince with Microsoft Power Bi is a must
